TOURISM - Tinapa resort concept

Expectation:
Tinapa Business Resort was set up to take advantage of the fact that Nigerians demands for good quality goods in Nigeria which has resulted to many Nigerians jumping into the Aeroplane to Dubai and America, London to go and buy goods, Now we have an Export processing zone here, now we have a free Trade Zone, which means that Nigerians don’t need to travel to those long distances to get the same high quality goods, if you leave in Aba, Port-Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja any where, you know, in a matter of one hour away or so, you can get the same quality of goods at the same price as you will buy in Dubai, Paris, or London, you don’t take the risk of entering aeroplane for six or eight hours, you don’t have the fear of an inconvenience of converting money from Naira to Dollars and so forth, these are the benefi ts. But we don’t want to be purely a market, we also introduce some leisure’s into it, because Nigerians invest on leisure’s too, where you can do your swimming, these is water park, there are anemia, Arcade for children, there are a lots of places where you can relax, there is a hotel, there is a Mimi gulf eat, all those facilities are there, so that you can do business with a smile, come do you shopping, do some recreations, feel refresh and go back.

Expectation Revenue if fully functional?
Well, the main benefi ciaries is the Federal Government, fi rst of all, it is like asking me who is the fi rst benefi ciary of the watt market or shop rote in Lagos, or you are from Abuja CD Plaza, apart from the few statutory fees therefore paid state government itself has no direct benefi t, but, the benefi t trickle down on the economy, you have a lot of people, 5000 people entering into your city, each of them is holding 1000 Dollars, that is 5,000,000 dollars enter into your economy, they are coming, they are doing shopping, when they are shopping they need tax is, they are coming, they are doing leisure, they need to eat, they need services, internet, the women will do their hairs, they will stay in Hotels in the Hotels, somebody will type letters for them, Banks will have business doing, it has multiplying effect on the economy, that is what we are targeting, so Tinapa create an opportunity for the common man to actually benefi t, government make money by collecting its taxes, it is the right economic model, not the other way round where government is trying to force money down into the grassroots, here it is the grassroots that scoop up the money and then pay their taxes to government. The reason why I say the greatest benefi ciaries is Federal Government; if we have 6000 people coming in may be air, who collects the money for each over fl ying, for landing fees, for various taxes at the Airport. If we have 50,000 containers coming in to Tinapa, is it not NPA that is going to charge fee for the containers, for clearing, it is not customs that take money when goods are re-exported into Nigeria for the various activities, the fueling of the airplane, that will land, so the major direct benefi ciaries where if you sat down they can actually clearly show what their benefi t is in the Federal government, the state does not have that kind of benefi t, state government will take her taxes from the operators and so on but state government will also benefi ts because its citizens will be the primary provider of labour and services, in that place and the money will come directly to come, because that money is coming from outside, it is not statutory allocation.
